The one thing professional training does not teach you is how to get clients once you’ve completed your training. Even seasoned professionals struggle with lead generation. It doesn’t mattter if you are a lawyer, dentist, or insurance agent, you need a consistent, low-cost way to get the phone to ring.

The biggest mistake we all make is trying to be all things to all people. Therefore, our marketing is aimed at everyone, but “hits” no one.

In today’s market, regardless of your profession, you have to focus your marketing on your dream client. That probably sounds scary since in doing so, you’ll potentially “lose” money by narrowing your market. But it’s funny, the opposite is what actually happens.

Go through a list of your current clients, and pick out all those you’d consider “dream clients”. Look at the correlations between them. You’ll find a pattern appearing, maybe they are all highly educated, high income, high asset, great credit, etc.

BAM! It hits you right in the face, you’ve been focusing (albeit on client selection) without knowing it!

So, now all you have to do is focus the “marketing” now too. That client is out there and you can find them. Not only will you find them, they’ll come back to you over and over. Now that is something you won’t learn from any other website design and hosting company!

Focus your marketing to be in front of your ideal client with the right message and you can’t miss. Forget the shotgun approach to your marketing…use a rifle instead.

You rifle can be an industry blogsite. Instead of finding your dream client, your dream client finds you. It’s like a match made in heaven. With a professional services blogsite, you can showcase your special talents, knowledge, and personality. Your dream client will recognize it immediately.

But remember, no “selling” in your blog…just a ton of user helpful information…kinda like this post!
